Data Analysis and Machine Learning

"We are drowning in information, while starving for wisdom. The world henceforth will be run by synthesizers, people able to put together the right information at the right time, think critically about it, and make important choices wisely."

E. O. Wilson

If this resonates with you give us a call. NWB Sensors has experience working with both public and private data sets running complex analysis. Our experience includes: non-linear mathematical regressions, instrument and data calibration, machine learning, genetic algorithms, radiative transfer modeling, GPS data, and environmental data. Please view the example project for more information.

Example Projects

Infrared Camera Calibration

Microbolometer infrared cameras have a digital output that is dependent on the temperature of the detector, camera body, and lens. Click below for information on how we developed implemented of removing these errors and how this can be done for your cameras.

BRDF Correction

The bi-direction distribution function (BRDF) describes the reflectance of an object with viewing and illumination angle. Click here to lean how we use multiple images to solve for an objects BRDF and derive a transform to represent the color from a preferred view.

World Snowpack Sites

To estimate the potential for world snowpack monitoring stations we built a model using satellite snow water equivalent data and the distribution of snowpack sites in western North America. This can be extended to a variety of other data for useful population and location estimates.
